I discovered these great stamps last month, and it was so hard to choose because they are all so cute! They are made in Canada from illustrations by an illustrator in Asia, so they have that Manga look, yet they are very sweet at the same time. I decided to grab one of them for the 30 Day Coloring Challenge and make a card. Lookie:
STINKIN' CUTE! I stamped on Copic blending card stock and had a great time coloring in the stamped image and then creating a rainy background for it.
I pulled my colors from my favorite Penny Black Painted Blooms 6 x 6 pad, having hoarded this sweet umbrella pattern for just such a purpose. I love these little piggies! The pattern on the umbrella was created simply by using the colorless blender to lift dots of color. The pattern on her dress was created with a white Prismacolor pencil.
The background was made by drawing lines in the direction of the rain, going over them with the colorless blender, adding warmer colors when it looked too cold, and finally adding lines with a white gel pen. I added some soft sponging around the edge of the colored piece to tie it more closely to the warm blue in the patterned paper.
This greeting is from a long-retired Stampin' Up! set called Small Sayings. It seemed the perfect one for this image! And the gingham ribbon ties into the gingham-patterned umbrellas.
I love the rich yet somewhat vintage look of this card!
